About Patois Restaurant
Our cozy, romantic neighborhood bistro serves traditional French fare with a patois, or regional accent. Aaron, a native of New Orleans, started his culinary career by working under some of the city's most renowned chefs, including Gerard Maras (Gerard's Downtown), a New Orleans classic, and James Beard Award winner Susan Spicer (Bayona and Mondo). He was appointed executive chef at Bank Cafe in 2006, and Louisiana Cookin' Magazine listed him among the Top 5 "Chefs to Watch" of that year. He founded Patois in 2007 in collaboration with longtime friend and business partner Leon Touzet. Since then, among other national, regional, and local media, Chef Aaron's cuisine has received annual recognition from The Times-Picayune and been highlighted in Garden & Gun. He most recently won the title of King Of Louisiana Seafood and will compete for Louisiana in the Great American Seafood Cook Off in 2014. The menu at Patois reflects Chef Aaron's dedication to using regionally grown food in traditional French cuisine with a patois, or regional, accent.
