Paulin Brothers Brass Band

In and outside of New Orleans, the Paulin name is linked with traditional jazz. One of the last living pioneers of that classic sound, who was around to see Jazz develop from its inception, was the late Ernest "Doc" Paulin, our father. In a Creole-French-speaking household in Wallace, Louisiana, Doc Paulin grew up. He was raised in a musical family, like many other New Orleans jazz performers. The "Doc" Paulin Dixieland Jazz Band was formed by "Doc" Paulin around the beginning of the 1920s. "Doc" performed New Orleans Traditional Jazz with tremendous vitality, elegance, and skill over seven decades. The Paulin Brothers Brass Band has paid close attention to the advice of the "old-timers." Thus, when you see the Paulin Brothers, you'll take note of our professionalism both on and off the stage; the wearing of our traditional uniforms, regardless of the venue; and, of course, our sound: the fusion of melody/counter-melody, background riffs, which includes two and three-part harmonies; all flowing together with an actual New Orleans beat. In addition to Jewish weddings, we have played at Mardi Gras balls and parades, concerts, fairs, and festivals of all kinds, including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. We handle everything!
