Pitango Gelato + Bakery

Pitango was started in 2007 by Noah Dan, who grew up in Trieste, Italy, and wanted to recreate the pure and wholesome gelato he remembers from his childhood. Pitango, which is still family-owned, currently has six locations in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Noah produces his own dairy on Pennsylvania's Spring Wood Organic Farm, a pioneer in grass-fed, organic farming, in order to find the best milk available. To acquire milk from Spring Wood's single herd, eggs from its free-range hens, and fruit from local orchards, we make gelato and sorbets on the farm. We churn every batch of gelato and sorbet on spot in each of our cafes after the flavors are combined on the farm to assure peak freshness. We may also avoid using chemicals, preservatives, stabilizers, colorings, or flavorings by churning our products on site rather than in a facility. We believe you will notice the difference. Hand-crafted artisanal gelato, sorbet, and hot Italian sipping chocolate await your friends and family. Pitango can serve any size event, from huge formal gatherings to simple backyard barbecues. Our Italian gelato and sorbet, created with premium, organic ingredients and grass-fed milk, will impress your picky guests. We have over 40 varieties to choose from, including a dozen dairy-free and vegan options. Your event will be brought to a delightful conclusion by our courteous and skilled catering crew. We may also collaborate with your caterer to serve sweets for weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, and other large gatherings. Pitango's full service gelato catering includes your choice of four gelato and sorbet flavors served by our expert catering team from our mahogany wood portable freezer. Gelato catering costs start at $500 + tax, with additional costs based on the number of guests, portion size, transportation, and serving hours.
