Why We Love Letterpress The Deep Impression Our letterpress prints are made with raised plates that are pressed into the paper. The pressure of the press compresses the paper so there’s an obvious impression. It gives your design a heritage and authenticity that’s hard to achieve any other way. We can print both letterpress and foil with a crisp bite you can see and feel. Super Thick Paper Letterpress and foil presses can print on a wide range of papers and substrates. Paper, acrylic, even wood. It’s a very versatile process when it comes to unique textures and patterns, too. Our shop also mounts papers, before and after printing. We we call it “duplexing.” This way you can make custom thick paper texture or color combinations to suit your design. Authenticity We think letterpress is the “perfect” process, but some imperfection and variation is true to the form. When you’re working with physical paper, plates and ink, there’s a natural variation that occurs. This imparts a natural charm and authenticity that can really warm up your design and give it a life of its own. The printing process is as much a part of the design as the creative work itself.
