Simplified Celebrations

This is who we are! It is my two sons, Ethan and Carsten, who are the driving force behind this little flower company in the heart of Richland, Washington. I launched Simplified Celebrations in 2009 out of a converted third bay garage in order to be able to stay at home with my children. Due to my status as a new mother, a new company owner, and a new member of the networking community, I felt like I wore the scarlet letter "R" for rookie status on my chest at all times. The only thing that kept me going throughout the early years of my work was God's grace, which I see now as I reflect on those years. It is also essential to mention that the Tri-Cities is surrounded by small businesses, and many of them have served as mentors to me during my career. I owe a debt of gratitude to the venue owners, photographers, bakers, planners, and other suppliers who noticed me out and about delivering weddings every Saturday and took a chance on introducing me. Then there are the brides from the early years of the twentieth century... When roundy moundy bouquets were all the rage, purple was the color of choice, and there was hardly a sprig of greenery to be found in any of the arrangements. In the past, I just performed what brides requested and did not feel the need that I do today to provide them design aid or educate them on topics such as what blossoms would last on a 102 degree day in the Tri-Cities or that baby's breath smells like cat urine... which it does!
