Statement of Purpose Sunset Foods is a neighborhood grocery committed to offering the best possible customer service. We're small enough to get to know our clients, yet big enough to offer the best assortment at the most affordable pricing. We are dedicated to hiring and training courteous, conscientious, and competent employees who will assist us in providing the freshest, highest-quality items in clean, enjoyable environments. History Sunset Foods is a family-owned grocery shop that has been in business since 1937. Sunset provides a diverse range of organic, gourmet, specialized, and fresh foods, as well as excellent customer service and community involvement. Sunset now employs roughly 900 people across five facilities in Highland Park, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Long Grove, and Northbrook. Mr. John E. Cortesi, Mr. Richard Cortesi, and Mr. Ron Cizzon are the company's Managing Directors. To read the entire history, go here. Volunteering in the Community Giving back to the communities we serve is important to the owners. The company's general business concept includes supporting local organizations. Sunset participates in fund raising efforts, sponsors a variety of events, and makes monetary commitments to almost 300 local groups each year. Service to Customers "The service" is the most important reason our consumers shop with us. And we have a solid reputation. We reach out to our customers by loading their groceries, publishing a quarterly magazine for them, providing complimentary cooking and nutrition classes, and offering to special order products that are not on the shelf, in addition to helpful store employees who embody our "People are Friendlier Around Sunset" brand. Products Sunset offers a diverse selection of groceries, including numerous ethnic brands as well as specialist health and organic items. The best cuts of meat and fish are available in our Meat and Fish sections, while our Produce department stocks the freshest seasonal fruits and vegetables. Our Deli is a popular stop for busy moms and professionals, offering pre-cooked meals, unusual salads, and other delectable foods.
