HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS AND HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START AS A WEDDING MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST AND CUSTOM TREAT TABLE DESIGNER? Since my oldest child was in middle school, I've been involved in event planning for many years. Many fundraisers, sporting events, and carnivals were organized with my help. With everything coming together, I was content to remain in the background, confident in the fact that we would have a successful event in the end. Sweet I Do's, on the other hand, were an entirely different story. It all began and ended with a phone call, or, to be more accurate, a series of phone calls, to be more accurate. In 2009, I was a full-time corporate employee with a newborn son and a wedding to plan in two months. I walked around with my phone in one ear and a bottle tucked under my chin as I scribbled down information from vendors. In order to maintain my sanity, I devised a system for tracking information and organizing it into manageable chunks. A system that has taken every event planning document, tip sheet, checklist, and guideline and made them actually useful and relevant. Even with my incredible system, bringing the vision in my head to life required a great deal of effort. And, as I look back, there were a number of instances in which I did not feel like a newlywed. Why? I was so preoccupied with all the details, and I had no one to whom I could confidently transfer my vision, that I was doing everything myself.
