Talya grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she spent most of her time in the kitchen with her family. When she started working at Frigo Foods in downtown Springfield, her passion for cooking grew. Talya took over as the youngest general manager at the downtown location and swiftly rose to the task of catering events coordination. She concentrated a lot of her efforts on the store's displays, particularly the cheese case, where she learned how to mix gourmet cheeses with cured meats and excellent wines. Before moving to Boston, the Frigo family offered Talya a unique parting present, "Talya's Dirty Italian," which has remained on their sandwich menu for the past decade. The sandwich has become a customer favorite, and it was the inspiration for an inside joke among friends that led to the name of her little business. Her passion for catering evolved over time as she became the go-to friend for all of her friends' life events, including birthday parties, holiday get-togethers, girls' night out, engagement parties, bridal and baby showers, and more. When the epidemic of 2020 approached the United States, it became increasingly difficult to spend time with loved ones. Talya designed "go home" dishes that rekindled small gatherings and increased appreciation for unique meal pairings.
