With decades of event experience, The Shim Sham Band will provide a memorable soundtrack to you wedding or event. Our musicians are among some of the best and most versatile in New Orleans including Grammy winners and nominees, member of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, and nationally recognized composers. Over the years, we've celebrated with many couples, as well as organizations such as the NFL Owners' Dinner, Mardi Gras Krewes, the Civic Theatre, and Mardi Gras World, among many others. The basics: - Core band of six, can flex up to nine or down to four based on your needs. - Provide our own equipment and instruments - A New Orleans-attitude but with East Coast professionalism. You will never have to worry about the band being late or off schedule. - 200+ NOLA weddings performed. “Sadly, my wedding was cancelled but from booking through to cancelling Jon was incredibly receptive. We offer pricing for 3 and 4 hour events/receptions for weddings and corporate events. While not listed, we can work with other event lengths so please inquire. We also offer some ceremony packages. We do not offer brass band packages but can recommend ones we work with regularly. While these prices are primarily for the main reception, we are very flexible and can discuss prices for separate cocktail bands as well.

- Are you willing to learn new songs that are important to me?
- The Shim Sham Band has always had a standing promise to learn songs that are important. If it is feasible to play the songs live, we will learn it. The only restrictions would be instrumentation (ex. we don't have a choir/orchestra), or sonic quality (ex. "club" music that sounds bad live).
- Can I work with you to customize a playlist?
- We absolutely want your input! Not only will we ask you to pick songs from our songlist of nearly 400 songs, we also want requests that we don't have yet! The night is about you and we want you to enjoy it as much as possible.
- Do you take song requests from guests?
- We have will have a song request list available for guest requests.
- What is your refund or cancellation policy?
- The initial deposit is refundable for 7 calendar days after receipt. We have a 20% rescheduling fee.
- How do you keep the dance floor full throughout my event?
- First, we work with you to bring attention to the stage to start each set. Then, we prepare sets to reduce dead air between songs. Finally, we work with you to know what songs you love dancing to so that you want to stay on the floor!
