Each of our cakes, cupcakes, and wedding cakes is unique. Every detail in each Creation reflects our passion to exquisite designs, as seen on Food Network, TLC, and Cake Hunters. You can choose from a number of different themes. We can design cakes and cupcakes for any special occasion, from weddings to birthdays to graduations. Optimal engineering is required for perfect equilibrium. Our experience assembles each of our 3-D design cakes, cupcakes, and wedding cakes, ensuring ability and time-keeping precision. Norman ICES Hall of Fane, CMSA, is the proprietor of The Sweet Life LLC in Annandale, Virginia, which specializes in handcrafted cakes. Norman and Zane are award-winning chocolatiers and pastry chefs known for their White Chocolate Curl Cake, three-dimensional chocolate miniatures, cake painting, high heel shoes, and sugar jewelry designers, to name a few of their sugar tenants. They're developing tools and edible products with large cake companies like Choco-PanTM and LucksTM. They've provided their services at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, ICES conventions, and a variety of other cake-related events. They taught at the Stratford College School of Culinary Arts, as well as in Canada, Dubai, Africa, and around the United States. They've appeared on shows including Historic Tours and Recipes, Fox 5 News, Channel 10 News, A&E TV, and Dubai TV, and they've competed in twelve Food Network Challenges and four TLC/Discovery Challenges. They've also appeared on the Oprah Show. To mention a few, they've created cakes for the Washington Post, President Clinton, Rosie O'Donnell, T. Boone Pickens, and Patti Labelle. Cakes & Sugarcraft, Cake Craft & Decoration, Food Art, The Washington Post, Washingtonian, Pastry Art & Design Magazine, People Magazine (A Cake From Every State, where their cake was picked to represent VA), and American Cake Decorating Magazine have all highlighted them. Norman has been honored with titles such as ICES Hall of Fame inductee, Certified Master Sugar Artist, and Top Ten Cake Artist. Dessert Professional magazine just honored Zane as one of the Top Ten Cake Artists of 2013.
