Averie Cole I’m a Mama, a sister, a daughter and a fierce believer in women and the amazing things we can achieve when we work together. I’ve always been creative and in 2006 I took the first step in my career as a wedding photographer. My goal was to be my own boss, to travel, make art and to feel constantly inspired. I enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Arts at UNSW in Sydney and so began the start of my professional photography career. During my studies a close friend of mine asked me to shoot her wedding. I’ll never forget this first job and how amazing it felt to capture those moments for my friend. It was also fun!!! Before I knew it I was lead shooting for Studio Something, traveling the world and meeting new and inspiring people daily. The work I do is meaningful, constantly evolving and everything I always wanted my work to be. PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE Candid, fun, colorful, emotive. We focus on real moments with a documentary approach. We avoid cheesy styled poses and focus on emotion and action. We use our 10 years + of experience to guide and direct your attention away from the camera and back to each other. Thats where the magic happens. GEAR For photography Averie shoots on 2 x Canon 5d mark 4s. We have a huge range of lenses including a 24mm, 35mm, 100mm, 85mm and 100mm lenses. For video we shoot on both the Canon 5d mark 4 & Panasonic Lumix G5’s. We shoot with a mix of Voigtlander & Canon lenses and use a variety of stabilizers. We also have a DJI Mavic Pro Drone. SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER? I highly recommend booking a second photographer.I usually recommend a second shooter for 5 hours if you are having a smaller wedding (75-100) people. If you are having a larger wedding I recommend 2 photographers from the whole day. A second photographer is also great if you and your partner are getting ready at different locations and logistically it wouldn’t make sense for one photographer to shoot both destinations. ALBUMS Your album is an heirloom. It’s a tangible record of your family history. Nowhere else can a person find so many authentic photos of relatives and friends engaged in a day full of romance or significant events. So many photos can become lost online and hard drives will eventually fail. By creating an album and printing your photos, you are creating the ultimate hard copy of your images and will be contributing to your family history by ensuring that future generations have a tangible record of how their family came to be over time. While it may be hard to imagine great grandchildren so far down the road, it is likely that they could one day have your album passed down into their hands.
