Weddings by Ted

Ted Rubis is well-traveled, well-educated, well-cultured, and well-seasoned. He's a doer and problem solver who looks great in a Tuxedo or Coveralls, whether he's building stage sets in the shop, attending a black tie gala, or working with executives, committee members, and brides with impeccable taste. Ted provides a wide and diverse skill set to wedding planning, including an acute grasp of the intricacies to execute complicated events, design, fabrication, and technical ability, with over 30 years of experience. Our grandparents immigrated from Greece in 1911, thus the Big Fat Greek Wedding is one of my specialties! My design portfolio is quite substantial, having worked in the event industry for over 30 years. Greenery has always been a favorite of mine. As a result, I've been purchasing boxwood hedges and topiaries for more than 20 years, long before the current craze. I enjoy creating centerpieces with two heights, such as floating candles, candle stems, or lanterns, or non-floral centerpieces such as floating candles, candle stems, or lanterns. With the resources I've gathered for Ampa over the years, rustic chic is a breeze. Dreamy programs with a lot of translucent drape, unique tables, bars, and furnishings excite me just as much. When it comes to design periods, I am particularly fond of the Art Deco movement in architecture and impressionist artists, however I am growing to appreciate Renaissance art as I get older. I like to think I provide a truly well-rounded, worldly approach to a customer, having traveled internationally and having an education strong in a liberal arts background, a degree in pharmacy, and additional work in business school studying finance, accounting, and marketing. I enjoy bringing glitz and glam to events in unusual settings and remote locales, such as cleaning out an old wood barn in the mountains or erecting a tent in a river estate's low country.
