1880 Garten Verein

The 1880 Garten Verein is a historic event venue set within Kempner Park in Galveston, Texas, operated by the City of Galveston Parks and Recreation Department. The pavilion dates to 1880 and today serves as a rental venue for weddings, receptions, dinners, and private celebrations. The air-conditioned, climate-controlled facility accommodates a maximum of 212 guests and can be reserved by the day or by the hour. City-provided tables and chairs — including round and rectangular tables and seating for up to 250 — are available for events, and an on-site staff member is included with each rental. The venue sits amid the walking paths and shade trees of Kempner Park, a public park in the heart of the island, making it a flexible setting for gatherings of many kinds throughout the year.
