A Landmark Reimagined for Extraordinary Events Landmark venue. Bespoke experiences. Impeccable service. Built in 1913 by Elmer Grey—architect of the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Pasadena Playhouse—440 Elm is a historic landmark with one of the grandest ballrooms in LA/OC. It offers presence and scale —without the patterned carpet, preset timelines, or shared lobbies of a hotel. Honored with the Long Beach Heritage Award for adaptive reuse and named a Best Ballroom Venue finalist by California Wedding Day, 440 Elm has been reimagined for awards shows, galas, experiences, and off-sites where visual impact and precision are equally non-negotiable. With over 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, the venue accommodates up to 900 standing or 500 seated in the Grand Ballroom, and up to 1,100 guests across the full property. Additional spaces include a black-and-white foyer, an exposed-brick Parlor, and an outdoor Plaza. We collaborate closely with planners, producers, and DMCs to support detailed production from pre-visualization through execution. Layouts are open and adaptable. There’s no exclusive AV—so you have control over your vendor team and budget. We use tools like Timeline Genius and Merri to stay aligned, avoid surprises, and keep creative and logistical decisions on track—with preparation, clarity, and respect for the work it takes to produce something excellent. Owned and operated by Bite Catering Couture—a chef-led, woman-owned team—440 Elm offers a hospitality culture built around creative alignment. Here, food isn’t just service—it’s part of the story.
