LeMay – America's Car Museum is a nonprofit automotive museum in Tacoma, Washington, built around the LeMay Collection — once the largest privately owned automobile collection in the world, numbering more than 3,000 vehicles at its peak. The 165,000-square-foot facility opened in 2012 adjacent to the Tacoma Dome, just off Interstate 5, and was cited by USA TODAY as one of the top eight cultural attractions in the world to open that year. Today it displays over 300 cars spanning a century of American automotive history.
For private events, the Museum offers numerous indoor and outdoor spaces for gatherings of all sizes. The Showcase Gallery, with vaulted wood ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Downtown Tacoma and Commencement Bay, welcomes up to 500 guests, while the Banquet Room, Club Auto Lounge, Speed Zone, McFarland Mezzanine, and Classics Classroom suit dinners, meetings, and parties from 30 to 200 guests. Outdoors, the 3.5-acre Haub Family Field hosts festivals, concerts, and car shows for thousands. Full-museum buyouts spread across four floors of event space for 1,000 or more guests, and every private event includes full museum access so guests can tour the collection.

I would like to see the event space. How do I set up a site tour?
There is no charge for a site tour or planning meeting. To schedule an appointment with the Museum's Private Event and Sales Manager, email RSVP@americascarmuseum.org or call 253.683.3952.
Will we be able to see the museum during the event?
Full museum access is offered for all private events, with an optional two-hour window for guests to tour the Museum. Greeters wristband all guests and tally the total number, which is billed after the event. Some exhibits may be unavailable when multiple event spaces are in use.
Will we be responsible for set up and take down?
Contracted caterers handle the set-up and takedown of tables and chairs, and the room is set in advance according to the planned space arrangement. Events include a 4-hour window, with up to 9 hours including set-up and clean-up time; additional event hours can be requested at $250 per half-hour.
Do we have to use your caterers, or can we use our own?
All catering and event rentals must be chosen from the Museum's Approved Vendor list of contracted caterers, which includes Act 3, Carr's, Table 47, Jonz, Café Pacific, Al Lago Ristorante, El Gaucho, Subtle Approach Catering, Gallucci's, and McCormick & Schmick's.
What is your alcohol policy?
Alcohol may be purchased from any retail store or through the Museum's caterers, who hold the required licenses to provide and serve it. Self-provided alcohol requires a Washington State Banquet Permit, and self-provided bartenders must hold a MAST permit, carry a $1,000,000 liability event insurance policy, and come from an accredited caterer. Shot-style beverages and doubles are not allowed.
