The Bradford Washburn American Climbing Museum, America's first and only museum devoted to the bravery, technology, culture, and spirit of mountaineering, opened its doors in February 2008 in Golden, Colorado, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Discover the thrilling history of mountaineering and meet legendary characters and contemporary heroes who have advanced the challenge to where it is today, from the illustrious past of the 10th Mountain Division to the risky first climb of Mount Everest. Visitors to this one-of-a-kind facility will be able to experience the ascent of the most inspirational mountains in the world through educational exhibits, hands-on activities, beautiful photographs, and climbers' personal accounts.
