In a historic brownstone on the Upper West Side, Arte Cafe is just steps from from Central Park and just west of the picturesque Strawberry Fields. This family-owned restaurant, which is celebrating 30 years in business, serves upmarket Italian food, including handmade handcrafted pizzas and exquisite desserts. We offer private event rooms available for rent for a variety of special occasions and budgets, including weddings. All locations are suitable for both small intimate gatherings and big occasions. Arte Cafe officially opened its doors 26 years ago, but it all began when Dina Malta traveled all the way from Italy to New York in the 1960s. Robert, her son, was a college student when he launched his first restaurant in the early 1990s, when he was still in college. With the assistance of his mother, he was able to properly administer the establishment. She was the one who came up with all of the original recipes that are still in use today. "She had such a commanding presence and always ensured that the staff was preparing everything with the freshest, most genuine ingredients possible," her son, Robert, said of his mother. Despite the fact that Dina passed away lately, her spirit lives on via Arte Cafe and the meals that are served today.
