Atlantic Center for the Arts is a non-profit multidisciplinary artist residency and cultural venue set on 69 acres at the edge of Turnbull Bay in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Founded in 1977 by sculptor and environmentalist Doris Leeper, the campus has grown into a gathering place for artists, organizations, and community groups drawn to its combination of purpose-built creative spaces and natural surroundings. The main campus at 1414 Art Center Avenue offers a range of rentable facilities suited to workshops, retreats, seminars, performances, weddings, parties, and corporate events. Spaces include the Joan James Harris Theater — a 2,500-square-foot configurable black box with a professional lighting grid — the 2,609-square-foot Helene B. Roberson Dance Studio with a sprung wood floor and landscape views, and the Mark and Margery Pabst Visitor Center and Gallery, a 5,000-square-foot ADA-compliant facility housing three interconnected galleries and a meeting room. On-site housing accommodates resident guests, and catering services can be arranged for overnight and multi-day events. A second downtown location, ACA: Arts on Douglas at 123 Douglas Street, features 3,500 square feet of exhibition space and additional studio classrooms for community programming.
