Baughman Center

The Baughman Center is a contemplation and event space on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, open to all individuals regardless of cultural background, faith, or university affiliation. Designed with soaring windows and natural materials — travertine marble floors and hardwood-paneled ceilings — the building draws the Florida landscape indoors while remaining grounded in a quiet, architectural stillness that has earned it a place on Florida Architecture's "100 Years, 100 Places" list and a Judges' Award from Keep Alachua County Beautiful. The center seats 96 guests on fixed bench seating in a single intimate hall, making it a fitting setting for wedding ceremonies, memorial services, and private gatherings. With more than 100 weddings hosted each year and full wheelchair accessibility throughout, the Baughman Center is well suited for both formal and intimate occasions.
