Betsy's Barn at Cheeseman Farm

Betsy's Barn sits on Cheeseman Farm in Portersville, a small rural town bordering McConnell's Mill State Park, and has hosted weddings ranging from micro to large-scale celebrations for over 25 years. The farm is a sixth-generation family-owned business that began as a general livestock operation in 1980; Betsy's Barn was built in 1999 by a small group of local Amish workers and has since grown from its original 40' x 80' footprint into a roughly 7,000-square-foot venue. The barn combines rustic character with practical event space: a large, fully covered wrap-around porch, a bar area, an open-air lounge, a glass-enclosed deck, and a 20' x 40' hardwood dance floor, all able to accommodate up to 300 guests. It is unheated and uncooled but relies on strong cross ventilation and fans, which is why bookings run May through August. Catering is handled entirely in-house by the venue's culinary team, and ceremony sites on the property include a gazebo, a large oak tree, the barn interior, and the surrounding field.
