Black Bear Lodge

Black Bear Lodge is a 32-room boutique hotel and mountain retreat set on two wooded acres in South Lake Tahoe, California. Located on Ski Run Blvd within walking distance of Lake Tahoe's shores and a short shuttle ride from Heavenly Mountain Resort, the property offers hotel rooms, spacious suites, and private cabins — each appointed with a gas fireplace. For groups, the lodge features Madio, a two-room gathering space designed as a thoughtful alternative to conventional hotel meeting rooms. Madio accommodates up to 40 guests for banquet-style seated events or up to 50 guests for a combined indoor and outdoor reception, with a private bathroom, prep kitchen, outdoor dining patio, and French doors opening to the back gardens. The space is filled with natural light through extensive windows. The lodge is owned by Greg and Rachel, who purchased the property in 2017 and have guided its ongoing renovation with a focus on intentional hospitality rooted in kindness, community, and nature. Micro ceremonies of 20 guests or fewer are also welcomed on the peaceful, wooded property.
