Blackacre State Nature Preserve and Historic Homestead is a 300-acre nonprofit preserve situated 25 minutes east of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, recognized as Kentucky's first nature preserve. The property centers on the Presley Tyler House, a restored 1844 farmhouse, and a double-crib barn dating to the late 18th century — a homestead first established by the Tyler family around 1795, with roots reaching back to Revolutionary War-era Kentucky. Rolling meadows, mature hardwood forests, spring-fed creeks, and a waterfall trail share the grounds with Louisville's largest community garden. The preserve hosts weddings, private celebrations, business meetings, and birthday parties across several distinct settings. The historic barn and surrounding grounds accommodate up to 300 guests for receptions, while the open meadow near the farmhouse offers a pastoral ceremony setting for up to 100 guests. An open-vendor policy gives couples and event planners flexibility to select their own caterers, tent providers, and décor vendors. Smaller gatherings can book the Stone Cottage, Tyler Farmhouse, or Nature Center for meetings and breakout sessions.
