Hundreds of Boston's most imaginative events have taken place on the Cyclorama's historic brick floor, magnificent copper dome, and skylight. It's a fully raw space that's been transformed into everything from a Broadway-style stage for the Huntington Theatre Company Gala to a one-of-a-kind retail pop-up for Nike with the help of brilliant merchants. The Cyclorama is a blank canvas on which you can paint whatever you want. The Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at Boston Center for the Arts, a collaboration between BCA and the Huntington Theatre Company, contributes to Boston's South End's status as a major cultural center. It's a three-story, 35, 000-square-foot building with two first-class theatres and three versatile event and rehearsal areas. The Huntington Theatrical Company, SpeakEasy Stage Company, and Company One Theatre are among the award-winning and respected theatre organizations that have performed at the Calderwood Pavilion since its inception in 2004. Nearly one million people have visited the Calderwood Pavilion, which has hosted 4000 performances and more than 300 organizations. Boston Center for the Arts, which first opened its doors to the public in 1970, has been engaging the creative community for the public good for the past five decades. While the organization's physical home is in Boston's historic South End, the Boston Center for the Arts is involved in every aspect of the city's cultural environment.
