Set on three landscaped acres at a family garden center in Newport, North Carolina, Butterfly Kisses Pavilion is a rustic-modern outdoor wedding venue in the eastern part of the state. The property took shape when owners Jeff and Sharon Shultz set out to plan their daughter Katrina's wedding, built a custom pavilion in about seven months, and hosted their first celebration in June 2011. At its center stands a 40-by-60-foot barn-inspired pavilion of rough-cut timber, with vaulted ceilings and a brick paver floor. An Open Air Chapel overlooks a pond, and a covered courtyard adds a fire pit and an outdoor fireplace for gatherings before and after the ceremony. Custom farmhouse tables and a dividable dressing suite round out the grounds. The venue accommodates up to 120 guests and hosts weddings, reunions, showers, and parties, with transparent, package-based pricing.
