About Cal Expo
Cal Expo is a 350-acre multipurpose exposition center in Sacramento, California, home to the California State Fair and hundreds of signature events throughout the year. Initiated by Governor Pat Brown and opened by Governor Ronald Reagan in 1968, the grounds were designed to celebrate California's agriculture, industry, and cultural diversity — and that same breadth continues to define the venue today. The campus offers 18 distinct venues spanning indoor exhibit halls, an amphitheater-style grandstand, a multipurpose stadium, a show arena, and expansive outdoor acreage. Indoor gathering spaces range from intimate rooms suited for private parties and corporate meetings to large-scale convention-style buildings. The Michelob Ultra Grandstand seats 18,000; Heart Health Park accommodates 12,000; and the Show Arena holds up to 3,500. For smaller private events, The Clubhouse hosts groups of 40 to 300, while the adjacent Turf Club accommodates gatherings of 40 to 200. Catering and concessions services are available on-site, and the grounds include ample parking. Cal Expo sits just off Business 80 near the intersection of Exposition Boulevard and Ethan Way, making it accessible from across the Sacramento region.
