He understood after two weeks of living a healthy lifestyle that he had permanently changed his life, and he wanted to assist others in making the same change. This objective was initiated in 1979 when the first Canyon Ranch location, located near Tucson, Arizona, initially welcomed guests. This pioneering wellness resort was the first of its type to use an integrative approach, drawing on holistic methods, therapies, and evidence from both western and eastern traditions to address the well-being of the mind, body, and spirit.
