About Capital Nola

The Canal Bank & Trust Building, which can be found at 210 Baronne Street, was designed by the well-known New Orleans architect Emile Weil. Built in 1927, Weil adorned the exterior of the building with limestone statues and lined the corridors with mahogany trim, Tennessee marble, travertine floors, and brass embroidery. In addition, he used travertine floors. Before it was converted into apartments, this structure was home to a variety of professional offices as well as one of the largest banks in the South for almost 90 years. The interior of the bank lobby was designed to convey an air of majesty and scale that is unequaled by any other location in the city. The original bank lobby is now known as the Capital on Baronne and has been renovated recently. The irreplaceable plasterwork and the hand-carved marble columns are just two examples of the many details that have been preserved. The Capital on Baronne is New Orleans' most elegant ballroom, making it the ideal location for wedding receptions as well as corporate events. If you are looking for the ideal New Orleans wedding venue, look no further.
