Capital Turnaround

The Navy Yard Car Barn has been the final station on the Red Line for nearly a century, repairing and rerouting streetcars for the Capital Transit Company across the nation's capital. This old car barn has now been transformed into a cutting-edge event space with a range of flexible areas for retreats, corporate meetings, conferences, weddings, parties, and various other kinds of social gatherings. The Main Hall is situated in the heart of the Capital Turnaround, much like the locomotive's powerplant. The versatility of this event space makes it easy to execute any client's concept with its open floor plan, exposed brick design, and modern-LED screens. This century-old garage, which was once a historic car barn from the 1800s, has been transformed into a cutting-edge performance venue with 823 seats and LED screens. The Capital Turnaround is outfitted with three enormous green rooms, similar to how a train's sleeping compartment was designed to provide passengers with a private sanctuary to relax and unwind throughout their journey. These spaces are furnished with trendy furnishings, restrooms, a kitchenette, and a cozy fireplace to complete the ambiance and allow the speaker or musician to relax and prepare for their moment on stage. While in the Capital Turnaround green rooms, everyone feels like a true VIP. The Capital Turnaround includes a range of areas for small and big gatherings and meetings, similar to the carriage, coach, and corridor cars of a railway train, making it an ideal location for corporate meetings or social functions.
