Cauffiel House

The Barn at Cauffiel is a historic estate venue nestled within Bellevue State Park in Wilmington, Delaware. The property centers on a 1928 Colonial Revival home — named for Daniel Cauffiel, the du Pont company's chief legal officer — that has been carefully restored with mid-20th century furnishings and décor. Set atop a grassy hill, the estate overlooks the Delaware River and is surrounded by exquisitely landscaped lawns, formal gardens, and a classic gazebo. Adjacent to the house, a refurbished Pennsylvania bank-style barn serves as the primary reception space, offering rustic wooden beams, farmhouse tables, and warm string lights for a "rustic chic" atmosphere. The estate accommodates up to 150 guests across its indoor and outdoor settings, with seven onsite guest rooms available for the wedding party. Ceremony options range from the garden lawn and gazebo to the barn's interior, while the Cauffiel House itself provides cocktail space and private preparation suites. JAM Hospitality, the venue's operator, provides full-service catering, event planning, floral design, and coordination — covering events from weddings and mitzvahs to corporate gatherings and nonprofit events.
