Chateau Morrisette Winery

Chateau Morrisette is one of Virginia's largest and oldest wineries, set on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd, Virginia. The Morrisette family planted their first vines on the mountain property in 1978, and winemaker David Morrisette launched commercial production in 1982; the operation has since grown from 2,000 gallons to more than 60,000 cases a year, using grapes from over 150 estate and Virginia-grown acres. At the heart of the property is a timber-frame hospitality building built from salvaged St. Marie River timber, spanning 45,365 square feet and framed with 185,000 board feet of reclaimed Douglas fir. The building houses the winery's tasting room, restaurant, and event and wedding facilities, including a ballroom used for wedding receptions and celebrations. Chateau Morrisette has hosted weddings for couples from across the country for more than forty years, and its private events team also plans baby and bridal showers, corporate events, and private tastings, with in-house planning support from booking through cleanup.
