The Colonial Industrial Quarter is a historic site within Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites, set on a hillside below Central Moravian Church extending to the Monocacy Creek in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Known as Americas earliest industrial center, the site is part of the Historic Moravian Bethlehem National Historic Landmark District and the Moravian Church Settlements UNESCO World Heritage Inscription. By 1747, the Moravian settlement here operated 35 different crafts and industries, including mills, tanneries, and textile operations powered by the creek.
For events, the Colonial Industrial Quarter pairs outdoor ceremony space among its historic buildings with cocktail hours and receptions inside the Luckenbach Mill, creating a rustic, historical backdrop for weddings, parties, and corporate gatherings. The Mill offers climate-controlled space across two floors, while the nearby Springhouse provides a smaller, more intimate indoor option. What are the rental client's responsibilities?
All outdoor events must be tented, arranged through Required Vendors. Clients contract a caterer from the Required Vendors list and secure bar and server staffing, and procure supplies such as tables, chairs, place settings, glassware, and linens from Required Vendors if not rented through HBMS. Other vendors, such as florists, photographers, or musicians, need a certificate of insurance if not selected from the Preferred Vendor list.
How much is the deposit, when is it due, and is it refundable? What is the payment plan for the entire bill?
Available dates are not guaranteed until payment is received. Deposits are typically 50% of the full price and are required at booking. The remaining balance and refundable security deposit are due 90 days prior to the event. Rental payment, outside of the refundable security deposit, is non-refundable.
Do you have required caterers/vendors?
Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites offers a list of Required and Preferred Vendors to aid renters. All catering, tenting, and rentals must be selected from the Required Vendors list.
What about DJs, florists, photographers, planners, etc.?
The Preferred Vendor list contains reputable companies familiar with the sites. If a needed service isn't on the list, renters may use an outside vendor with prior approval from the Manager of Visitor Experience. Outside vendors must provide a certificate of liability insurance naming HBMS as additional insured at least four weeks before the event. Event planners are highly encouraged.
