Cottontail Weddings & Events

Housed in a converted 1891 tobacco exchange and inspection warehouse in Danville, Virginia's historic River District, Cottontail Weddings preserves original architectural details — exposed brick, heavy timber supports, and original hardwood floors — while adding modern crystal chandeliers and color up-lighting for contemporary celebrations. The building operated under several owners, including the Liggett and Myers Company from 1930 to 1970, before its renovation into an event venue; Cottontail has hosted weddings and celebrations there since 2017. The venue's 3,600-square-foot Main Ballroom seats up to 175 guests, with a preferred range of 100 to 150 for comfort and flexibility, and can host both ceremony and reception in the same room. Rental includes linens, tables and chairs, LED lighting, a catering prep kitchen, and bridal and groom preparation suites, and couples can walk guests next door to Ballad Brewing for a cocktail-hour tasting-room experience. Cottontail hosts only one event per day, giving each celebration its full attention.
