Dao House Rustic Lodge and Retreat Center sits on 81 acres in the Tahosa Valley — a site historically known by Native peoples as the "Valley of Peace" — at 9,200 feet elevation in the Rocky Mountains near Estes Park, Colorado, bordering Rocky Mountain National Park. The property faces Longs Peak (14,250 ft) and has served as a gathering place for retreats, workshops, conferences, and celebrations since reopening under current ownership in 2014. The main lodge is a 37,000-square-foot log structure, one of the largest of its kind in Colorado when it was built in 1985. Dao House accommodates groups from 2 to over 125 guests across its event and meeting spaces, with 36 lodge rooms and a family cabin providing on-site lodging. The venue hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, renewal of vows, and wedding brunches alongside retreat programming. Outdoor ceremony options include a natural Aspen Meadow setting with rustic wood seating and views of the surrounding peaks. In-house organic catering, team-building activities such as guided hiking and fly-fishing, and wellness programming including tai chi and qigong instruction round out the full-service offerings.
