Whether you envision a small, intimate affair or a formal, lavish celebration for hundreds, the estate offers the perfect setting for gatherings of every style and size. The Estate has become one of the premier rental facilities for an array of social and special events, including weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, and celebrations. When hosting your event at Deering Estate, you will enjoy spectacular settings and views. The Grand Lawn is perfect for outdoor gatherings and wedding ceremonies with endless views of glistening water. Guests may be delighted by the sight of graceful ibis wading at the shoreline and gentle manatees surfacing in the bay. As evening nears, the magic continues to cocktail hour with dragonflies dancing across the golden sky, adding a truly unforgettable glow to your celebration. Enjoy dinner and dancing under the stars in the courtyard, bordered by the Estate’s historic homes, majestic old oaks and 100-year-old banyan tree with cascading aerial roots. - Do I need to make an appointment for an onsite or virtual site tour?
- Yes; An appointment is required to ensure availability and to not interfere with ongoing events. For your convenience we offer both in-person tours and self-guided tours. Based on availability, walk-ins or last-minute requests for tours are welcome. Site tours last anywhere from 30 min – on.
- What are the event hours?
- Evening events may begin immediately after the estate closes at 5:00pm with music off no later than 11:00pm and all guests must leave by 11:30pm. If you are interested in a daytime event please contact our special events office to see what rental options and times are available.
- Can I bring my own vendors?
- Yes, Deering Estate is just the venue and gives you the flexibility to bring in your own specially selected team of outside vendors, such as caterers, florists, decorations, and other service providers— you can customize and create the event you have always dreamed of!
- Is there an indoor option at Deering Estate?
- No; at this time we are not offering our indoor option of the Stone House as an add-on experience. The Stone House is currently undergoing restoration work, and we anticipate completion in June 2026.
- In the case of inclement weather, what happens to an outdoor wedding?
- Tents may be set-up in most outdoor event areas. The Special Events Coordinator must be notified if the permittee chooses to have a tent three days in advance.
