Desert Plantation

Desert Plantation Bed and Breakfast sits on 90 acres of rolling Tunica Hills, about a mile inside the Mississippi state line from St. Francisville, Louisiana. Built in 1808 and completed in 1812 by Colonel Robert Semple and his wife Isabelle Turnbull, the antebellum estate has been in continuous private stewardship under the Merwin family since 1900. The outdoor grounds are the heart of the event experience: ancient live oak trees draped with Spanish moss frame a ceremony walkway beside a pond, where candlelit bridal paths and a handcrafted altar set the stage for celebrations of up to 200 guests. For inclement weather or smaller gatherings, the historic manor itself accommodates up to 50 guests in its central hall — anchored by a distinctive archway used as an indoor altar — and on its expansive front porch overlooking the grounds. Desert Plantation hosts destination weddings, bridal retreats, family reunions, and corporate getaways. Wedding packages include tables, linens, chairs, and rehearsal time, with overnight guest suites available for the bridal party inside the estate.
