Dominion Arts Center

Dominion Energy Center anchors Dorothy Pauley Square in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Its cornerstone is the historic Carpenter Theatre, which has entertained Richmond audiences for over 90 years and now seats nearly 1,800 guests beneath a fiber-optic starlit ceiling, with state-of-the-art acoustics and lighting following a full renovation completed in 2009 by the Richmond Performing Arts Alliance. That same expansion added two additional venues to the center: Bob & Sally Mooney Hall, a bright ground-floor space suited to receptions, breakout meetings, and awards dinners, and the Libby S. Gottwald Playhouse, a versatile black-box theater on the second floor built for intimate receptions and corporate gatherings. Dominion Energy Center serves as home to resident companies including the Richmond Symphony, Richmond Ballet, Virginia Opera, and Virginia Repertory Theatre, and hosts private events ranging from corporate meetings and fundraisers to weddings and milestone celebrations across its performance spaces.
