surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku spent time in Malibu, California, where he taught surfing and competed in water sports. He also appeared in more than 28 Hollywood films during his time in the area. Duke's Malibu not only pays homage to Duke, but it also pays homage to the early days of surfing in Malibu as well. It's also worth noting that Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, who served as the inspiration for the Gidget novel, movie, and television series that ignited the California surfing craze, is a regular at Duke's Malibu as our Ambassador of Aloha.
