Elk Lake Resort

Elk Lake Resort has welcomed guests to Montana's Centennial Valley since 1932, when a U.S. Forest Service special-use permit established what would become one of the region's most enduring backcountry retreats. Set at 6,750 feet on the shores of Elk Lake, the 10-acre property sits beneath a Rocky Mountain backdrop within the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge — a landscape rated among the most ecologically significant in Montana. The resort accommodates up to 32 guests in private cabins furnished with log pieces and private bathrooms. The lodge serves as the social heart of the property, with a great room featuring a stone fireplace and bar and an adjacent dining room with mountain views. Meals are made from scratch daily in the "Country Gourmet" tradition and included in the resort's all-inclusive packages. Elk Lake Resort offers exclusive-use rentals for weddings, family reunions, and group gatherings. Ceremony locations across the property include lakeside settings, aspen groves, and a rustic log barn. Guests can also take advantage of horseback riding, fly fishing, ATV riding, kayaking, hiking, and wildlife refuge exploration throughout their stay.
