The Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park is a national heritage site and event venue situated along the waterfront in historic Fells Point, Baltimore. Operated by the Living Classrooms Foundation, the campus occupies one of the city's oldest waterfront industrial buildings — a restored Sugar/Coffee House whose exposed brick walls and industrial wood beams anchor the character of every event held here. The site honors the legacy of Frederick Douglass and Isaac Myers, who founded the first African American-owned shipyard on this very stretch of harbor in 1868. Five distinct spaces accommodate gatherings of nearly any size, from intimate dinners to large outdoor celebrations. The Founders Room seats up to 200 and opens to the adjoining Bearman Gallery, while the open-air Promenade and Courtyard can welcome as many as 900 guests for a reception at the water's edge. Cardin Pier extends over the harbor, where working vessels including the tall ship Lady Maryland occasionally dock alongside an event in progress. Catering is provided by an exclusive roster of approved vendors, and all events benefit from four hours of setup time and two hours of breakdown included in the rental. The park's events team, led by Director of Events Natalie Halpern, coordinates private bookings for weddings, corporate gatherings, and special celebrations throughout the year.
