Galt House Hotel

The Galt House Hotel has stood at the center of Louisville's waterfront since 1972, when developer Al J. Schneider opened the modern property on the banks of the Ohio River. Its roots run deeper still — the original Galt House opened in 1835 on Second and Main Streets, and the name has been woven into Louisville's civic life for nearly two centuries. The current two-tower structure, completed with the addition of the East Tower in 1984, is the largest hotel in Kentucky and holds the distinction of being Louisville's only waterfront hotel. For events, the property offers more than 130,000 square feet across 53 meeting rooms, two grand ballrooms, and an exhibit hall — a range that accommodates everything from intimate gatherings to receptions of 1,600 guests. The in-house culinary and catering team handles food and beverage for on-site events, and a dedicated AV partnership through Pinnacle Live supports hybrid and live-streamed productions.
