Garden of the Gods is a name given to the red sandstone formations that rise up against Pikes Peak and have long been admired for their natural beauty and serenity. Years ago, it served as a Native American crossroads where a large number of nomadic tribes could congregate in peace and harmony. According to local legend, the enormous sandstone formations were considered hallowed territory, and as a result, hostile tribes were required to lay down their weapons when entering the Garden of the Gods.
