The Gardens of the Woodrow Wilson Family Home sit in the heart of Columbia's Robert Mills Historic District, surrounding the boyhood home of President Woodrow Wilson, built circa 1871. As South Carolina's only remaining presidential site, the property pairs a rare piece of history with gardens inspired by Italian-villa stylings and a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere well suited to ceremonies and receptions. The outdoor grounds accommodate up to 250 guests across a main lawn shaded by mature fir trees and a gravel reception area fitted with tie-down anchors and grapevines for tenting and decor. A newly renovated catering prep kitchen and renovated restrooms support events on-site, with electrical access available throughout the gardens and Historic Columbia staff present during rentals. The historic home itself operates as a museum and is not part of the rental, keeping the focus on the gardens as a backdrop for weddings, receptions, and smaller private gatherings.
