Operating since 1745, the General Warren Inn is a historic tavern-turned-inn in Malvern, Pennsylvania, in the heart of Chester County's Great Valley. The property began as the "Sign of Admiral Vernon" and later took its current name in honor of Dr. Joseph Warren, a Revolutionary War figure killed at Bunker Hill; over the centuries it has served as a stagecoach stop on the Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike, a Seventh-Day worship gathering point, and a temperance hotel before its 1984 restoration brought back its 18th-century character. Today the inn combines eight guest suites with several distinct event settings, including a main dining room, the Warren Tavern, and the Spring House Terrace, a secluded outdoor space built around a 275-year-old springhouse. The terrace's lower level is partially enclosed and heated for year-round use, while "Table 1745," set inside the historic springhouse itself, offers intimate seating for up to six guests with full bar and restroom access nearby. The General Warren hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, private parties, and corporate events, with an on-premise pastry chef available for custom dessert and wedding cake menus. Larger receptions can be arranged as formal sit-down banquets or stations-style events, and smaller parties may order from the full dinner menu in one of the inn's dining rooms.
