Giddings Stone Mansion

Built in 1870, the Giddings Stone Mansion sits on a hilltop near downtown Brenham, Texas, with views in every direction. The historic home is operated by the Heritage Society of Washington County alongside the neighboring 1843 Giddings Wilkin House, and it's used both for historic home tours and as a rental venue for weddings and private events. The mansion's eleven rooms, five bathrooms, 13-foot ceilings, and original fireplaces give indoor gatherings a period backdrop, while broad verandas wrap around both the upstairs and downstairs of the house. Leaded glass doors open the veranda for ceremonies, and groom and bridal party dressing suites are available on site. The grounds extend well beyond the house itself: the surrounding lawn can hold up to 1,000 guests, with tent options available for larger outdoor receptions. Between the indoor rooms, covered verandas, and open grounds, the mansion accommodates everything from intimate weddings and bridal showers to holiday parties, ceremonies, and family gatherings.
