Green Island Country Club

Green Island Country Club sits along the wooded shores of Lake Oliver in Columbus, Georgia, where pine forests meet the water created by a Chattahoochee River hydroelectric project in the late 1950s. The club opened in 1962 as the centerpiece of the Green Island Hills residential community. In 1995, a full redesign by Cole & Hornsby transformed the clubhouse into a structure modeled on 17th- and 18th-century English Country Houses, with a gated approach, motor court, and wings extending from a central building. The clubhouse hosts a range of private events including wedding receptions, corporate meetings and seminars, graduations, family reunions, and milestone celebrations. A large ballroom at the heart of the facility can be partitioned for more intimate gatherings, and formal and casual dining spaces offer views of the 18-hole golf course designed by architect George Cobb, who consulted for Augusta National. The club's culinary and banquet teams oversee food and service for all private events, with coordination available through the Catering Director.
