Hale Hōʻikeʻike at the Bailey House is a historic museum and event venue operated by the Maui Historical Society, located at 2375A Main Street in Wailuku on the island of Maui, Hawaiʻi. The property sits on grounds of deep historical significance — the site of a great warrior chief's residence in 1794 and, later, the Wailuku Female Seminary established by missionary Edward Bailey in the 1840s. The Maui Historical Society opened the museum on July 6, 1957, and the property was gifted to the Society in 1992 by benefactor Masaru "Pundy" Yokouchi. The museum houses a collection of more than 2,000 Hawaiian artifacts spanning the pre-contact era through the missionary period, including fine kapa, feather lei, ancient adze, and approximately 26 oil paintings by Edward Bailey. The Chas Fisher Memorial Gardens on the grounds feature native Hawaiian plants alongside non-native species from the missionary era. The Kawika Room — the original dining hall of the Wailuku Female Seminary and the last building constructed for the seminary — serves as the venue's dedicated event and exhibition space. The Maui Historical Society hosts cultural gatherings and events at the property throughout the year, including the annual Lei Day Heritage Festival and the Moonlight Mele Hawaiian music benefit concert series.
