Halyburton Park

Halyburton Park is a 58-acre nature preserve in Wilmington, North Carolina, operated by the City of Wilmington as both a recreational destination and an event venue. Set among gently rolling sandhills — a habitat rarely found in the coastal Carolinas — the park is 70% undeveloped, with long-leaf pine trees averaging 70 years old, limestone depression ponds, and an accessible 1.3-mile perimeter trail threading through the landscape. At the heart of the park stands the Events Center, a distinctive building featuring sky-high ceilings and towering windows that welcome natural light from the surrounding woodland. A stone patio with a vine-laden pergola extends from the building, framed by lush plant life and mature trees. The center is available for weddings, birthday parties, corporate meetings, and other private events, with picnic shelters available for smaller gatherings as well.
