Harborfields Waterfront Vacation Cottages sits on the west side of Boothbay Harbor in West Boothbay Harbor, Maine, on land the Thorpe family has held since 1832. The vacation business began in 1948 when Dick and Peggy Thorpe built the Lodge and Shore Cottage, and the property has operated continuously since — now under the care of Wendy Thorpe, Peggy's granddaughter, who grew up on the grounds and returned to lead the property in 2012. The property encompasses ten cottages ranging from studios to six-bedroom accommodations, a deep-water dock, and sweeping harbor views throughout. For weddings and private events, Harborfields offers several distinct settings: the front lawn arranges in a natural amphitheater style for waterfront ceremonies of up to 150 guests, the Farmhouse South Lawn overlooks a wildflower meadow and West Harbor's Back Cove for receptions of approximately 100, the rustic Boat Barn provides covered space with character, and the Lodge's large living room accommodates intimate gatherings of up to 40. Full-property rental of nine cottages, sleeping 54 guests, is available for multi-day celebrations. The property operates from mid-May through mid-October, with late May, June, and September considered the best seasons for events.
