The Helena Civic Center occupies a Moorish Revival building in Helena, Montana, constructed in 1919 as the Algeria Shrine Temple and operated by the City of Helena since 1936. Renovations have upgraded sound, lighting, and rigging systems throughout the facility and added chandeliers, custom carpeting, and ADA-compliant restrooms. The Ballroom spans 15,000 square feet and accommodates up to 684 guests for wedding receptions, banquets, dances, corporate meetings, and trade shows. A second-floor mezzanine accessible by elevator overlooks the main floor and seats an additional 98 guests. An on-site catering kitchen with a walk-in cooler supports food-service operations. The 1,925-seat Auditorium Theater hosts touring concerts, off-Broadway productions, and performances by the Helena Symphony. Both spaces may be rented separately or together. The building opened its auditorium in 1921 with a performance by John Philip Sousa's band and has anchored Helena's performing arts and events calendar ever since.
