Hingham Heritage Museum

The Hingham Heritage Museum occupies the 1818 former Derby Academy building — an elegant Federal-era structure atop a hill overlooking Hingham Square — and serves as the headquarters of the Hingham Historical Society, founded in 1914. Its three floors house galleries, exhibits, a visitors center, and society archives. The museum's upstairs ballroom is the centerpiece for private events, with arching windows, period portraits, and an adjacent brick terrace. Handicapped accessible, the ballroom accommodates seated dinners for 100 and standing receptions for up to 200. The Society's second campus on Lincoln Street adds the Old Ordinary Annex — a rustic gathering space with a small kitchen and restroom, suitable for garden parties and meetings of up to 75.
